custom firmwares

downgrade from 1.5 to 1.0 then upgrade to 1.5 ... thats the best and cleanest way of doing it

You should either go from 1.5 o 1.0 back to 1.5 or 1.5 to 2.0 and back again to ensure a clean system
I went 1.5 - 2.0 and back but apparently going down to 1.0 and back up is even cleaner, you could get problems by not doing this whether you plan to use custom firmware or not...
