Pokemon Firered doesnt save and doesnt have an ir board installed?

Yo im using gpsp and when i play pokemon fire red it doesnt save and says remove data storage or something and it says at start ir board not installed wtf is this is there a way to fix it?

u need to patch it with a save patch

No need to patch it with anything, just set the save size to 128k in the menu.
