    To find if you have SP2 then go to My Computer right click it and go to properties. If you see the words "Service Pack 2" anywhere on that screen then you have it. Otherwise you get it from Microsoft.com

    As for your wireless network adapter not letting you online, Their could be a number of problems wrong. Are you sure its making a connection?

    but its ok just to have the belkin receiver alone? i dont use a belkin router just a signal from the hotel.

    okay im startingto think the issue is my Dell's hardware. How would I go about checking the USB drives since I have a hunch thats the problem. I guess I'm going to have to have them replaced but I'm still under warranty so no fees only a wait. Of course i dont want em seeing my hard drive or disk info. I wonder if you can just send them parts to replace?
