R4i Gold v2 Pokemon White help

Hey, I'm trying to get it running, and I can get the menu and professor intro working, but nothing else, I'm using the firmware from http://www.r4ids.com is there something I'm missing? the rom is a English patched one with AP patch applied.

Edit: tried the Ysmenu firmware listed there, same results.

Use the AKAIO 1.8.1 , it should work .
