Hey im New to the forums and I wanted to know if anyone could point me in the right direction on making a homebrew game for the PS1 or ps2, Im working on my programming portfolio right now, so I would like to have some ported games to show off in it. if possible point me towards an engine instead of library or anything of the sort lol. If you want to make a game for the original PlayStation, I would suggest the Net Yaroze for the best start at about roughly "200.

Alternatively, you should seek out the very first demo disc that came with PAL PS2 consoles. As it contains the software "YABASIC", although the only downside to YABASIC is that you can only save to a memory card (although data can be transferred to a PC). I've created many small programs with mine, most notably a few games that retrospectively resembles the looks of the sh*tty Magnavox Odyssey titles without the screen sheets.
