I actualy think its funny that they could put a release date on somthing like a downgrader :rollseyes:

And why would the guy say "nov 14 2006" That's kinda wierd. 2006?OH I thought he was talking about 2007 :rolls eyes:

Well there was a rumored 2.71 downgrader, and now we have a real one. I'm sure there will be a 2.8 downgrader, because the tiff exploit was only patched in 2.81.

I wonder why the 2.71 downgrader doesn't also work in 2.7 or 2.8.

It doesn't work in 2.8 because there is no kernel mode. For 2.70...probably because people can just upgrade to 2.71 and then downgrade I'd imagine..

Stupid. Stupidity as its finest, really.

First of all, downgrader devs don't hold back. Their main object is to get the downgrader out into the public. If they have one, they wouldn't screw around and wait a month.

Second, I doubt that guy as a credible source.

I started the "rumor." Sorry.

At my site, we've had so many people ask for a 2.80 downgrader (before one existed anyway) that I made a forum rule specifically disallowing people to ask for downgraders that didn't exist. Needless to say, it didn't do much; the questions kept on pouring in.

So I decided to invent a date. And I figured... no better date than my own birthday, right? So whenever someone would ask when a 2.80 downgrader would come out, I'd just say "November 14th, 2006," and they'd shutup. It worked, too.

Apparently they took me seriously. Whoops!
