the only one I know of is Dune: battle for Arrakis on Megadrive, not much fun only being able to control one unit at a time tho. C&C runs on Daedalus, but slowly and with no textures.

not realtime, but there are a lot of really quite decent turn based strategy titles for the gba

The GBA games arent freeware... but two of my fav strategy games for it are Advance Wars 1&2.

The DS version does look excellent! This was originally one of the reasons I was going to purchase a DS... I later changed my mind and opted for the homebrew bad boy PSP!

Another great (old skool) strategy type game is ‘North and South’. I’m currently playing it on the ST emu Castaway, but I assume this also works with the Amiga emulator too.

heh, i my big bro gave me his Gba SP and i went out and bought FFTA for it and might be getting tactics ogre. Is onimusha or Yu YU Hakusho tactics any good?
