I reckon this is a good idea.
I can also imagine an xbox typed interface but have all homebrew in a menu going up or down.
Could someone try to take a stab at creating a shell formatted exactly like the iTunes software installed on iPods so PSP users could have the best of both worlds? Here are some cool features I thought of:
Music playback
Playlist compatibility
Podcasting
Go to Extras > Games and all your homebrew would be there and it could be run like homebrew in iR Shell
Video and picture playback
Optional iPod controls (i.e. move analog stick clockwise rapidly to scroll down, counterclockwise to scroll up like on Click Wheels, etc.)
Does someone want to take a stab at it?
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

Nice idea, maybe even a iPod "emulator" one day? :P
Think it could be coded for DS too? I want to watch some SB podcasts...
eh, ds sucks bad. psp is better for homebrew but it would be better to make a ipod type clone b/c the xbox one is cool but has been ported in every single language (lua, html, swf)
That's a good idea. I don't know if I would have that much use for it though, considering I us emy iPod for music.
No offense, but the iPod interface is archaic at best, anyway.
Nah, ipod is the standard, too many people like it to say that
