I prefered the PSP, but when the DS Lite came out... I'm sorry, the DS lite is just better. Besides the fact that it has a lot of more games, it's just more comfortable. How can I explain it? I can't. I liked the PSP better than the original DS, but now it's just clutter. THe new more portable design, with the better screen, the lack of loading time, and responsive control is just better for anyone who's stressed out and has little time for games.

Sony might just never be able to beat Nintendo when it comes to handheld. Why? Because Nintendo is strickly a video game company, unlike Sony who's higher ups have probably never played a video game in their lives and just see it as a tool to promote there other agendas, like to watch their UMD movies or Blu ray.

DS made a good start in 2004, PSP did backhit in 2005 and so DS is striking again this year.

Hasn't Sony done this once before competing with VHS? I see these formats going the some way, but maybe not as quickly. Sony has this weird thing with proprietary format crap, they should just make a proprietary format that is affordable and functional for a lower price and not just try to make so much bank off of it (I know, corporation trying to make money, that's what they do).

It's not true that the DS/Lite sucks, thats a fanboy opinion. It seems anyone who doesn't own one always says it sucks. Metroid Prime Hunters is fun as hell. Since when did PSP have any FPS beside ports brought by the homebrew community?

The only things keeping the PSP alive are homebrew, and Sony's determination to control a handheld market dominated by Nintendo.

I love Sony for being dumb enough to provide us exploits so we can play Doom, Quake, Hexen, Heretic, eventually Marathon (I want all three, fricken sweet games, beat'em again earlier this week, thank god for Aleph1).

I love Nintendo for bringing Mario 64 to the DS (even though its really a whole new game), the Metroid Prime series, homebrew ported multiplayer Doom (that's right PSP fans, we need this!), and the Lite version (it feels half the weight of PSP).

I guess what I'm trying to say is, the systems both are really awsome, and at the same time they suck in different ways, but the awsomeness is definately outweighing the suck factor of both. If you don't have either one, get both if you can or get an emulator of one and see if you'd like it.

Who cares about the market or search graphs from google for either company, just have fun with them.

Sorry to be off topic the whole time, but was there a point to this thread?

Agreed. To say the Nintendo DS is garbage because it was made for kids is an ignorant argument. While the DS isnt as capable of displaying bloody effects or display ragdoll models in eerie positions, it makes up for its lack of "mature" titles by bringing us quallity games. I can honestly say I have enjoyed playing a game of Mario Kart DS or Advanced wars, or blasting my way through Metrioid more so than I have with any current PSP title.

The DS, while a much weaker peice of hardware, has a software library that simply DESTROYS your general official PSP selection. The PSP has a few gems, but most of of thoes games being remakes or ports of older games from older hardware. I think its quite reasonable that Nintendo is once again leading the way in terms of the handheld market.. The games are just better.

I agree, while there are some decent games on the PSP, the DS offers new ways of playing games that are not possible on other platforms.

eg: Metroid Hunters, the controls in that rival a keyboard and mouse. Trauma Center, I can't imagine it being played on the PSP.
