My mother (40s) cannot hear it either. It sound sso loud to me though!

haha, i played it in a bar tonight on my i-pod and nobody knew where the sound was coming from and people were just looking all around with absolutely no clue. There were some old timers who couldnt here it, but most adults up to about their late thirties could hear.
