    Default anyone suffer a lens failure on the gd rom unit??

    Anyone suffer problems with there gd rom not moving or reading disks? I think i need to replace mine as it dont work.

    yeah that happens, sounds like that motor has died, no easy fix for that. No if the lens is moving and the disc is spinning, but its not booting the disc, there is a fix for that.

    initially the disk spin when the lid is closed but the lens dont move back and forward. where is a good reliable gd rom replacement seller?

    to be honest, it would be alot cheaper/easier to buy a second hand dc. the replacement part is about the same price as a dc now, and then you have shipping.

    buying a used dc lis a bit hard, and if you buy over the internet the freight is astronomical and the lens may be near its end, so wont buying a lens be cheaper? i heard stories of people buying 3 or more just for the replacement parts.

    i own 3 myself but one dont work.

    I bought two extra DCs (one for my friend) at Gamecrazy for $25.

    If you could get the replacement part that would be good, because then someone else can get a DC.

    lik sang did sell the part for like £20 at one time and thats before p&p, they are out of stock at the mo. I would guess ebay

    You can also go to EB. Last I checked, they still sold DCs for $25.
