Considering that it's basically a 12" statue, that price isn't that bad really, especially when compared with other statues of pop culture stuff. For instance Marvel & D.C. Comics statues of similar size *start* from about £100 (~$190)for the cheapest ones. At $60, I'd be tempted to get that if I had the cash, although I'd prefer a 12" Luigi.*

You can get some decent statues at a reasonable price, though (if you're lucky). This is a 12" statue I picked up a couple of years ago for about £30 ($56), and bloody great it is, too.
