"vanilla" means "plain / untouched" 1.5. basically the original 1.5 firmware with no mods etc.Originally Posted by jamesmc3stripe

(i mean, is it safe to run updates when running 2.71 through devhook? i dont like the sound of that!) the only person to ask on the thread just seemed to get everyone telling him "why bother?" - well, it's his choice and i can see why someone would want to do it. i do too!
i will *never* change my firmware from 1.5, since i want to avoid any updates i ever can, but it would be cool if when emulating 2.71 i could still run homebrew. its a convinience thing rather than necessity.
the key to the new golden firmware just one thing that is bugging me and that is no umd *cough* via dh.. will dere be support for dis![]()
I have two questions.
1. If i have a custom firmware already will i need to go back to original 1.5 before i get this firmware?
2. Why would you even need devhook to be campatible with this if it already does every thing 2.7 and 1.5 can do?

You shouldnt ask that here. Just lookin out for you man...
devhook is for games needing 2.80+ i guess
Wow, 2.71 looks very attractive now. I don't think I will upgrade now, but I might later if the features and pros grow further.
TA-082 users with 2.71 are damn lucky now. This is almost as good as a downgrader. Now they can fully enjoy homebrew too.
DaRk_Alex is a genius.

Yeah but devhook still only supports up to 2.7.Originally Posted by Khorney
