Nah it was a blue screen with white letters but not like the blue screen of death one for the psp, brighter and more alive looking. Lots of stuff in lots of languages before I could find english it took me to the PSP setup wizard thing, enter a nickname etc.

i'm still waiting vor the dxar, about 1 hour and the orange ms light is still flashing.
How is this posible.

Didn't take me more than a few minutes. I'm using a Sandisk 1.0GB "gaming" memory stick as they called it. It's florescent yellow.

Custom Firmware is a modified version of the PSP's operating system. Basically this one allows you to play homebrew applications (games, emulators, etc) as well as use the Web Browser and other features that come with the 2.71 Firmware.
