my psp did the same thing like twice about a week ago but then it stopped not sure why though. it was somewhere around the time i started using harley g's custom firmware, reinstalled devhook and installed ir shell. im leaning more towards the culprit being ir shell.

have you tried formatting your memory stick? or are there things you don't want to lose, cause you could always copy them to your comp

That's what the cause was for me I believe. I removed that and that file appearing stopped. I went ahead and installed the custom firware after that, though.
