~SG57 (http://jordansg57.googlepages.com/home)Lucky day for 2.8, and possibly others, as I've ported an OpenGL Chip-8 Emulator (interpretor really...) to not only work with the regular homebrew limits, but rather the 2.8 TIFF SDK's as well.
There's one bug right now preventing me from releasing... The whole story of it is below:
About 2 days ago, I thought to myself, "why re-develope so many classics, why not find a system that already has them all, and emulate it". Well, that's what I did suprisngly.
The port required all of the Standard In/Out Library to be replicated. As well as a different form of drawing than the ortho-vertex drawing OpenGL uses.
UPDATE
Im now porting alot of emulators to test for compatibility, and efficiency. In the end, if i dont find one 80%+ compatibility and efficiency way up there, im going to create one myself. Itll be my first, but I hae docs of the Chip 8 to help me through my time of parol.
Just about everything I create from now on, for 2.8, will be Open BETAs as the request for BETA testing is enormous.
P.S. Vote for my cause at the PSP3D.com contest, support a developer by voting for my game?
(just to show what chip-8 is, not the actual emu)
This is great for 2.8ers...just shows how H/B is developing for 2.8.

You guys may want to check out SG57's site for all his upcoming tiff stuff. Hes really making an impact on the 2.8 homebrew scene. Cant wait to see whats up his sleeve.![]()
what games are there for OpenGL Chip-8 ??Originally Posted by XpspX
Im really not sure. Thats his post on his own website, which is all the information there is so far. Feel free to google it though. Even if its several boring games its still going to be great because we'll be running multiple games in one program.
Now thats another sony got owned moment. Great work for the 2.80 users.
SG57 is ending his ASCII games(BRICK-OUT)--Sadly, this may be the end of the road for my ASCII-art games as I've lost almost all my heart in them, what with an emulation sensation growing inside me. This may be for hte better or worse, but I can guarantee there will be atleast one emulator playable through the TIFF exploit.
i guess its ok because 2.8 homebrew now has fairly good graphics (check out tiff tetris 2.00). Im assuming that the chip-8 emulator will have nice graphics.
