I have just started on this project too. I have the analog and male usb assembly complete. I managed to solder four wires on the psp analog. When I stuck the wires out the hole I made for the usb port, and put the faceplate on, everything worked fine. I tried to put the usb female connector inside the faceplate, but it is just too big. I'm going to modify it.

By the way, your "picture tutorial" has WAY too small pictures, I can't see what the heck is going on.

dont the pics get bigger if you double click them?

And i had to modify the port to get it to fit and i still had to cut some plastic from the inside of the psp, the black bit of plastic the button contacts are on.

i used bens pic but turned it through 90 degrees, although i cant remember exactly if that is right but i do know that side of the analogue controller needs to face the psp for the usb mod.

Forgot pics.. but i turned it on today to put a few movies on sense i cant play any games bc once again my analog didnt come! ergh! it should definatly be here on monday.. so i was going to copy some movies over, i don thave any analog assembly in there right now.. and i turn it on.. i CANT move to the left in menu or at all the left d pad button did not work at all.. so i took it apart about 3 times trying to get it to work again... i had to run the last wire A on ben's tut all the way around the whole d pad circle then it works its still mass stiff... like i have to hold psp with both hands (like normal) and press rather hard... this is annoying .. any ideas why?

    Update:

I took the ps1 controller and took out the button rubber. took out that dome cut it in half put it in the center of my dome on the one.. kinda like a spacer... worked perfect but up is left and down is left.. lol.. so i took it back out.. cut it in half again.. arrange it to be to the complete side of the psp.. now only down is left and left is left.. so now im goign to take it apart one more time.. hope this works
