I was just wondering, if i have a lcd monitor, and i buy the xbox 360 VGA adaptar, does this mean that my xbox 360 can play in HD on my computer monitor? Thus allowing me to play dead rising, and read the text ?

Might want to hold off: Pelican sells a combination Break-out-box (gives you ports for stereo audio, TOSLINK, Component, Composite, S-Video and VGA), USB HUB and add-on fan for $15. Microsoft wants $40, and depending on your model of XBox (the thing doesn't fit on some SKUs), it might be a good alternative.

BTW, "HD" is just a series of standardized resolutions and frame rates. The most common are 720p (1280x720 at 24, 30 or 60 FPS), 1080i (1920 by alternating fields of 540 lines at 24, 30 or 60 FPS) and 1080p (1920x1080 at 24 or 30 FPS). Anything that can (minimally) meet those requirements qualifies as HD. As far as things matter, anything that kicks out video over 720x480 is HD (even 1024x768). Enjoy man, it'll be pretty freaking awesome. If you've got a CRT, you might even be able to squeeze 1080p out of that thing (though the XBox just gives you a series of resolutions to choose from, not "720p" or "1080i")
