Let me just check the obvious things first...

    1. You realise that you can't run UMD Games when you're running 1.5 firmware, right?

    2. To run UMDs, you still need to use Devhook. When you select what game you want to run in DH, select "UMD Drive" and start up as you would normally start a game from you MS.

Because Devhook tells the PSP that the game in the UMD drive is something other than what it really is, you can't just throw in a disk when you're running 2.7 and play it. You still have to go through Devhook.

Is this your problem or have I misunderstood?

Can you move freely between 2.71 and emulated 1.5? If so, it doesn't seem like a firmweare problem.
You could try down then upgrading to see if it helps. Good luck and stop using iso's. Nothing good will come of them.

Look bro you gotta do the following, this has happened to me, that is how I know.
1.Reset your PSP to default setting
2.Reflash your 2.71 using generic downgrader
    3.Re-install Devhook.
If this results in your PSP turning into a brick because of the reflashing I am not responsible.
Do step One, if it dosn't work, do step 2, if that dosn't work, try number3.

OKay Last question when I read the read me of it I got abit confused help me out..

    - Get the EBOOT.PBP of the update you want to install, and copy it with the name of "UPDATE.PBP" to
    /PSP/GAME/UPDATE

    And on qj it said

Now simply extract the files in the downgrader archive below to your PSP and paste the EBOOT.PBP file of the updater into the PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder.

So do I name the update file to update.pbp ? or do I leave it as the name is ?

It would be a lot Safer to use option 1, but if you insist, rename it to UPDATE.PBP.
