    psp UMDs Requiring 2.81 Now

Following suit, 0okm appears to have discovered the first, or one of the first, UMDs to require firmware 2.81 — this time it’s Star Trek Tactical Assault!

ps3 There are 3 that I know of so far...

1.) Star Trek Tactical Assault - 2.81 firmware - You need to replace the libfont.prx with one from a 2.71 game in order for it to play correctly.

2.) Ford Bold Moves Street Racing - 2.80 firmware - Even though its 2.80, the game plays fine with DevHook 2.71 emulation.

3.) Cabalas African Safari - 2.81 firmware - This game DOES NOT PLAY! Even if you mess around with .prx files. It used the newest encryption and just won't work for whatever reason.

Looks like the need for an updated DevHook might soon be approaching. But I would rather it wait until 3.0 firmware is released so that SONY cannot put in some last minute changes that would make 3.0 unable to be emulated.

Okay, weirdest thing I discovered about an hour ago.

I have Power Stone Collection as an ISO and im running it on DEVHOOK emulating 2.71. I go to run it and it worked!

I'm confused as hell because it defenetly says PSP Firmware update 2.80 and the Firmware I am emulating is 2.71!!

I think that the 2.80 games will work on Devhook is because the TIFF exploit works on 2.80 PSPs, something probably to do with that.

As for games, Power Stone is worth playing with the new update installed on the UMD. But funny enough works on DEVHOOK.
