Because what we are doing is illegal
I dont why sony is blocking all the homebrew and making gay updates and all this crap please WHY WHY WHY US
Because what we are doing is illegal
Simple, homebrew does not encourage the sale of UMD's or commercial games, there are problems with the legal aspect of running old games in terms of copyright and then you have the problem of emulation GBA, N64 etc.
If Sony were officially supporting homebrew and emulation then you can see potential lawsuits and many legal issues. In short, it is not what they created the portable to do and it would be more trouble for them than it is worth.
Because there are pirates running images of commercial PSP games on older PSP's
Its because Sony dislikes our actual enjoyment of their products. They sell them to make money for themselves. After that they dont give a da** whether or not we like our purchase. as long as we dont return it. Thats why they have a no return policy on some things.

HAHAHAHAH!
SOny Flaming!
Well, pesornally, i think it's just because they want something to do, since they obviously aren't spending any time making decent games.
So many people at this site have that mindset and it's absolutely wrong. Nothing that is allowed to be discussed on this site is illegal. Sony makes updates to firmware both to add new features and to help ensure that people don't pirate games (no way to block that without blocking homebrew).
While you may use your psp for illegal activities, playing homebrew games or using homebrew applications on it is completely legal.
If anyone is looking to buy, sell, trade games and support a developer directly at the same time, consider joining Goozex. Enjoy!
I dont understand the whole illegal thing.
I purchased the PSP so I should be allowed to modify as I see fit.
I bought a 2006 F-250, added some 24" Rims, whole mess of speakers, nav system and all kinds of other goodies...
I hope Ford doesn't sue me...
As long as we arent using sony's code or something, it should be free game...( Or downloading illegal ISO's, which I do NOT condone at all)
