How to protect your PSP?

About a year ago there was a PSP virus running around. Does this still make the rounds? I found a PSP virus scanner called psafep is this still a valid way to protect yourself?

The virus's aren't really viruses so to speak. They are malware, as they don't spread. It also gives lots of false positives.

99% of homebrew is safe... Just avoid anything called "SDL_TEST-5" or something like that...
