Ok i have read up about it and am about to flash it but i just have one question... do i put the recovery folder into the 271seflasher folder if i want recovery mode?

The RECOVERY folder wont help much until your new firmware has been flashed.
Recovery mode is simply a recovery console that can be accessed by holding the right shoulder button when booting your psp, but this wont work until you have flashed the 2.71SE-B firmware.

the recovery files go in the game folder along with an official update (usually 1.50) renamed to update.pbp in case you mess up the flash and need to reflash, or want to degrade back to 1.50
