SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2... No online for 1.5!

I got SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2, and on my 1.5 PSP I can play it using the 2.XX to 2.00 trick on DevHook so I don't have to update the PSP. However, to play online, I have to download an update and install it, but the update says I can only update on 2.81.
So, if I wanted to go online on SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2, I'd have to update! I can't be doing that, so it really sucks, because the first game had such awesome multiplayer, and the second game promised even better multiplayer, especially with customizeable characters.
Is there any way I can get past this update problem without having to update my PSP, or am I doomed to no SFB2 online play?

just put yes. it will install a patch in your game folder. also when it's at the title menu where it says start game or quick login, in the bottom right corner it should say v1.10.

could someone upload the patch because everytime i try downloading the update it gets sometimes more than half way and downloads very slow and i get server error message before it finishes
