No this isnt for port requests and it does not have to be open source. Have you been playing a totally awesome freeware game that you would like to share with people? This is the thread to do it in! Here are my 3.
Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.
If you dont know what this is, you must be living under a rock. This game was apparently supposed to be a commercial addon but was later released not as an addon, but as a stand alone client. hundreds if not thousands of people play this game.
Google and ye shall find
Tribes.
This game used to be commercial but a few months ago I was happy to find out sierra was releasing it for free. As of a few months ago at least there were still hundreds of people playing this game. THIS IS THE ORIGINAL MMO FPS! Well above 100 people can play on one server. Its looks aged, but its still good gaming!

GTA and GTA 2
Rockstar out of the kindness of their hearts decided to release the two classics as freeware. You know what these are.

It wasnt me that gave you the warning, but let me explain somthing to you. These games do not fall under the category of "abandonware". abandonware is a term usually used for games that are not exactly around for commercial purchase (though usually they are) but have not been released as freeware. "abandonware" (which is a term created by a bunch of morons that though they had an obligation to torrent commander keen and duke nukem even though they are still commercially sold) is illegal, games that are released as freeware are not. I think this is a common misunderstanding.
