    Default I would like to use IrShell but....

    ... does IrShell work together with latest devhook? Will I still be able to launch devhook and select 2.71 fw? Does IrShell flash my psp?, are there any bricking risk using IrShell? etc...

    What do I need to know to make IrShell work together with devhook?... or has it go its own built in fw selector like DH?

    Right now I have 1.5+devhook.

    No, iR Shell doesn't flash your PSP, so therefore it would be impossible to brick it. Just install iR Shell. There will be a icon to automatically launch DevHook straight from the iR Shell menu. And you can set what firmware iR Shell boots to in "Ir configurator" option (also on ir Shell main menu) I love iR Shell & highly suggest it. Hope this helps.
