Is it possible to downgrade to 2.5/2.6/2.7x, just like how DAX's TIFF downgrader does it? Or is it using a different method?

A 2.80 downgrader would actually be a pretty big step for the scene. With 2.81 & 2.82 not too different than 2.80, it could maybe lead to someday being able to download even 2.82 PSP's. Downgraders are very dangerous though so we should keep a close eye on this development if it turns out to be real. I would be thrilled if turns to reality.
