I used PocketISO to make my FF7 IMG into a Z, but when I try to start the game, it gets to Loading Game.... Then that goes away and it is just a blank screen. Eventually, it just crashes. Anyone know what I may have screwed up?

dude... read back posts. I have said a few times that .IMG files work fine in this emulator aslong as you still have the .cue file . Its a damn shame this thread has gone into a pile of wank with tons of irrelevant posts that could have been salvaged if people would take 2 minutes to read instead of jumping the gun with irrelevant pre-explained bull$#@! questions.

Well yes, I read that, but I don't think you read the whole thing. I said that I turned it into a Z file (so I could compress it) but it isn't working.

To tell you all the truth, it seems to me that this emulator (at this point, mind you) is no better than PSX-P. This may be because I don't play FF, but Spyro and Crash (my two Sony buddies) are still just as slow. The only advantage I see is that Spyro actually runs in this one.
You don't need to know my mental status. You probably don't want to, either.

    1) Do you have the bios?
    2) Is it named correctly? (scph1001.bin)
    3) Are you sure everything is in the correct place? Everything must be in the __SCE__ps1p directiry. No sub folders.
    4) Is your image ripped without errors?

If all of these are true, it should work.

For FF7 make a back up of it using cloneCD

you'll get it as an .img file (about 712 MB)

If you have 1GB just copy it with the rest of file that have been generated with cloneCD to the emu folder

(If you want rename img---->bin just in case)

I tried to compress it with pocketISO to Z but it didnt work
