I have tried both 1 and 3, and neither of them have worked. Well,
They run, and I get a folder F0 in the root of my memory stick. I then copy that into the DH folder and into 282 folder. I run devhook and I get the PSP blue screen of death, what am I doing wrong?
EDIT: no worries, got it working!
copied from one very hwlpful person on the QJ forums:
ยป Easier way to install v0.50
this is easier cuz it skips some steps. also i provided links
from here @ QJ's download site:

2. Download Firmware 2.82 update and 2.71 update (2.71 is on page 2 of download screen)
link to firmware selection page:

------------------
4. install devhook to your PSP. You should now have ms0:/dh/ folder
5. Install "PSAR dumper" program to your psp.
6. Copy the 2.82 data.psar to your ROOT FOLDER of PSP. (aka ms0:/)
7. Run PSAR dumper. PRESS "CROSS(X)" to extract the files to "ms0:/f0"
8. copy this new folder to dh/282/ . yes overwrite.
9. copy 2.71 DATA.psar to root folder
10. run "PSAR dumper" again, but this time press "SQUARE" (important!!)
11. copy the decrypted ms0:/f0/kd/audio.prx to ms0:/dh/282/f0/kd/
it is ok to delete ms0:/f0/ folder and files now.
12. copy a previous firmwares flash1 settings folder to your 282/f1 folder
if you dont have one laying around try fileassistant
13.start devhook
14.select "flashrom" and then the first setting (flash1: < ms0: install configfile) to flash your flash1 directory to your psp's internal flash1
15. #14 will only create directorys. repeat 14 to copy the files.
16. start devhook.
