Im not so sure about it but i think it has something to do with the whole kernal access not accessible on 2.8
What if, using the eloader on 2.8 that somehow someway someone codes a downgrader to be run through that? Im sure this has been thought of but considering homebrew will run, why not a downgrader too? I realize it may take a few more months but is it not an interesting thought?

Like Pibster said you need kernel access to create a downgrader
PSN ID: splodger15
It worked on 2.6 though.
That's because 2.6 HAD kernel access.
yep no kernal means no downgrade
If my memory serves me, Kernel access allows for the flash to be accessed. And all downgraders work essentially the same: they access the flash and change the PSP's version in the flash to 1.0; then you run the 1.5 update eboot and the PSP allows the update to proceed because it thinks its a 1.0.
Plus TA-082 changed the face of downgrading (I am not sure how it did, but I know downgrading is not possible with a TA-082.)
actually F9zDark, the 2.5, 2.6 and (first) 2.71 downgrader didnt change the firmware version to 1 then run the 1.5 update, they forced the 1.5 update to be written over the top of the current firmware (which may have been the cause of many bugs people had after degrading with one of thoe degraders.
I think kernal access is needed to write to something other than flash0, otherwise a degrader would be worked on right now (remember, that program, Devinant flash i think, that lets you change your gameboot, january background, etc, all stored on FLASH0, of A 2.8)
PLEASE!!! Stop calling downgraders, degraders, it just sounds so degrading
