Will be "much cleaner, faster and reliable."
Google's Maps service is a flagship product used across the globe, which even mobile rival Apple can't avoid using as a native app on its iOS devices.
However, 9to5mac claims Apple will launch its own maps app that runs across iOS 6-powered iPhones, iPads and iPods in order to sever ties with Google and apply increased pressure to Android.
Sources claim the app will be similar to Google Maps, but provide a 'much cleaner, faster and more reliable experience' with an unveiling taking place at the Apple Developers Conference in June.
