Well, if this was good enough for you to try zx-81, then I feel more safe & secure trying it myself. I am mainly interested in keeping my 0.46 2.71 DevHook as well as this. I will try this and report back results.

I have my 0.46 Devhook and all the extra prx's running alongside 0.51. the only snag so far is the game saves.
My advice is if you have saves run them through 0.46.
If starting afresh, or a new game, use 0.51.

    Worked like a charm.

However, why has my X and O buttons switched?

X is cancel and O is execute

    Thumbs up Calling all Chickens!

Just finished installing, everything works great!
I have to admit I was a tad nervous 'cause I had a pristine 1.5 and was always too much of a chicken to try Devhook, just in case I messed anything up, however, this is simplicity itself.

So come on all you worriers like me, take the plunge!

Many thanks to all involved with this,u guys all rock!

psp Calling all chickens (Part 2)

    I'm using a 1.50 PSP.

I took the plunge after seeing that zx-81, the legend himself found this installer useful. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops was another reason why I just had to upgrade. I used this to install a US 3.01 firmware and it worked great. I thoroughly tested most 3.01 XMB fuctions such as photo, web browser, network setup, music w/visualizer, Online Manuals, etc. All seems to work incredible. Even exiting DevHook to regular 1.50 worked. I have not yet flashed flash1 or flash0 but all still works well without doing so. I must also point out that I did not reformat my memory stick prior to using this. (I have so much stuff that I did not want to bother waiting for it all to be backed up) Even without reformatting it seems fine.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops works great by the way. I've been able to SAVE, Return to XMB using HOME, etc. The game even loads when overclocking but no WiFi will work unless DEFAULT CPU clock is used.

A huge thanks goes out to all involved in making this simple installer.

I have read multiple reports that 3.02 does indeed work with DevHook 0.51. However, I do not know how to set that up so I will probably not install it unless this or another installer can install it correctly.

My biggest gripe is having the X & O buttons swapped. That really blows but is not the end of the world. If anyone knows of any tricks to swap X & O, please post how to.

But anyway, what are you waiting for? Use this installer and then laugh at all of your friends who have a REAL 3.01 PSP.

Did it. My firmware launches. But when I select my UMD (2.00 version of GTA- LCS) it shows gameboot and then turns off. Same thing as happened with Chaos Zeros installer. Damn... I am running 2.71 SE-C with no .prxs in config. 4 GB Sandisc MS Pro Duo. Kernal set to 1.5 in config. (Also set to UMD Mode - as opposed to no umd mode) Also, why is the F0 folder on the root of my MS empty when I install with this? any help would be appreciated. This has been maddening.

Ok. I switched setting in DH to force 2.00 Disc. I did this with Chaos Zeros installer and it still didn't work. Thank god this one did. Tommydanger, your the man. One question, is there a button swap? It drives me nuts having my x and o buttons swapped.

PS: if I go into system settings will this one crash? If so does it corrupt my Devhook files?
