when i download it it says copy the quake and quake% folders to the psp/games folder, but then it says go to firmware/1.5 and copy the eboot to the ms root... there is no firmware folder...

Quake on the PSP is also compatible with Quake on the PC (in terms of multiplayer) however, players on the PC have an unfair advantage with the limitless control options available.

To answer your question..yes.

PSP players can go online (infrastructure)
and you can edit the config.txts to add your own server addresses if you want
