i am mostly positive it will. but, if it is 1.0/1.5 don't update unless it is to 2.71 se-(x)
Just wondering, I currently have a Japanese PSP, if I update it with American firmware would the O-X buttons switch?

heh right now I got 3.02 on a TA-082, since 82 is the $#@! model Im gonna get a new one from a place that sells new PSP's they bought a year ago! Or I might switch it with someone, but the buttons are the problem.
I don't think updating will fix it; I think the controls are setup in a part of the flash that isn't affected by the updates. I could be wrong though, but I do know that the button problem required using a flash writing program to change (X-Flash for instance can do it I believe).
Are you using 3.02 on the flash or are you using Devhook? If you updated the PSP to 3.02 you are SOL.
SOL? I don't care much about running homebrew on TA-08$#@! because your limited. Besides I got my Dreamcast for homebrew![]()
nope, updating wont fix it. both my Jap psp's have been upgraded with US firmware and still no difference in th X + O buttons. theres a fix thou, but it's too late for you as you upgraded doh' @ you! lol
If you didnt upgrade you could of you x and o button swapper( I think thats what its called anyway)

I so much prefer my Japanese PSP. The button config seems so natural.
But the button swaper writes to the flash, mine is TA-082 so it would have bricked.
