devhook does not emulate fw's it runs them from memstick instead of the flashrom

and you can run any fw you like
for example if you are on 2.71 you can use HEN D to activate homebrew and then load devhook to load 1.5 firmware to run maybe dgen or gpsp or any other brew

Yes, but I think we are getting into semantics now, do you think that newbies are going to understand the exact processes involved, or a simpler concept of "emulation" of a higher firmware. Especially as many don't even seem to know what firmware they have!

maybe youre right but there are differences

if you think of the psp as a pc and the firmware is like windows
i personally would really want to know which windows im running
ok the psp is a gaming device but if you want homebrew
which means running pc like software on psp
then you have to find out what this little thing is about
this means reading atleast the manual that came with the psp
or go to a forum like this and ask "stupid" questions
the people here are friendly and willing to help everyone
you just have to ask the right way
