Yay! Worked for me!

I had to do it twice though. The first time it said it wasn't a 7x-81A mobo, so I opened it up, looked again, went through the whole procedure and this time it worked just fine. 1.5 goodness :-)

can some one help me i want to downgrade
i have a non ta-82 psp
when i got my psp it was ver 2.50
so is it safe to downgrade?

Not really. You have to open up your UMD drive and look for a certain number to know if it's a ta-82 or not. Google it cause I don't remember the number inside the drive. Mine came with 2.6 on it but it's a ta-82 board. A 2.8 down to 2.71 downgrade would be good enough for me!!!!

This is awesome news. But here's what sucks I have a ta-82!!!!! Argggggg I'm so mad I waited to long to buy a PSP. Someone please make a downgrader for ta-82'ers down to 2.71 so we can at least use devhook.

the down grader works i now have a 1.5 PSP

the first time i tried it i got an error, saying my PSP was the wrong Ta- version

make sure you run xloader and that you have the power in or a full charge and read all instructions

can anyone help? i have a jap psp1000k i bought in march 2005 upgraded to 2.8 to play gta does any one know what motherboard i will have ,i used homebrew last year untill i upgraded but do not know about the mobo compatabiaty and would like to try this 2.8 downgreader
