What did you get/buy for christmas instead of a Wii?

In the UK buying the Wii is like trying to find Rocking Horse $#@!. Instead of taking out a bucket of cash and trying to swap it for the mythic device I used the cash and got engaged instead.

This isn't a thread asking for congrats messages etc more a long term plan commentary.

Before the engagement I would often mutter about buying a Wii. My GF would thoughtfully eye my computer desk housing the top of the line PC, 2x Xbox 360s (mobile phone contract freebies are awesome), the PS2, Xbox, Dreamcast, PSP, NDS, and GP2X lying around and just make a non-commital allocation of funds grunt.

Now my fiancee has no eyes for the stack of hardware, just the shiny thing on her finger.

When I say Wii now her eyes remain glazed and "of course My Love in January once Nintendo get their act together - want a PS3 too?" or something like that gets muttered.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!

well aside from the wii, i got an ipod video and about 15 movies.
