psp [Tutorial]PS1 Games having their own savefile/name

As you probably have noticed all savegames ripped with popstation create a savefile with the name "Hot Shots Golf 2". Thankfully there is a cure for this.

    1. First download PSP Brew and XVI32(or any other hexeditor).

    http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/113
    http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delph...vi32/xvi32.htm

    2. Open up BASE.PBP, the Hot Shots Golf 2 EBOOT with PSP Brew, change the name of the Eboot to whatever game you want to rip, then save.

    3. Open up popstation.exe in XVI32. Search for the line _SCUS_94476. Change it to whatever you want, as long as it's exactly as long as the original line. I prefer changing it to the games respective serial number. This is the folder that the saved games will be saved in.

    4. Then search for Hot Shots Golf (it's named something strange after that). Change it to the name of the game you want to rip. Again it has to be exactly as long as the original line, so you might have to fill it out with spaces after or shorten it if it doesn't fit. This is the name of the saved game.

    5. Save popstation.exe and rip your image (iso, bin, img) file.

    6. Run it in your PSP, and the game will have it's own save file and savegame name.

Optional: Make your own backgrounds and icons with artwork/screenshots from the game. I won't go in to how you do that in this guide.

I hope this guide was of any use to you.

Thanks for the guide. I got to try this out right now

Note: Can you explain how step 4 works? It doesn't make any sense to me right now.

I've added some pictures to make it easier to understand.

Thanks for clearing up step 4.

I have another question about the guide:

On step 5, what happens if you go over the character limit? For example, what if I replace Hot Shots Golf 2 with Activision Classic Games, which is over the character limit?

I cahnged the numbers in the save file to "00001" and then i changed the savefile in my savedata on my memory stick so it would match it. Then I tried running the game and it won't start now, it gives me the 80000004 error, thanks! Can someone help me now?
