Tested and worked fine on two PSP's..

    One white 2.71 TA-082 and one black 2.71 TA-082...

Cutting a long story short, I downgraded both of them to 1.5 successfully after going through the readme instructions.

I then got the 3.02 OE-A installer package for 1.5 and it copied over all the necessary files. I then ran the install from the xmb on both psps and volla we have two ta-082's on 3.02 OE-A...updated them both to OE-B...

Only thing I did was in the recovery folder I replaced the update.pbp with a 2.71 eboot to revert back to.

Thank you Dark Alex, Mathieulh and Harlyg

Will recovery mode only work on my psp if I change the update.pbp to a 2.71 eboot named update.pbp?

Awesome, thanks for clarifying that.

By the way, we can add another success to the list, I was able to downgrade my TA-082 to v1.5 and then upgrade to v3.02 OE-B with ease.

    PSP Information:

    Model - TA-082 (IC1003)
Original Factory Firmware - v2.6 (Upgraded to v2.71)
    Current Firmware - v3.02 OE-B, running flawlessly

I have a theory for 2.8 PSPs. A TA-082 PSP cannot downdate to firmware versions below 2.5. I think you can use the 2.8 downgrader, replacing the 1.5 files with 2.71, and then use the TA-082 downgrader.

If it worked for you Frosty, I'll definitely do it! I'm not just aimlessly trusting you not knowing who you are though , I'm GaveUpTomorrow from NGEmu Don't know why I use a different name here... haha. I'll report back with a progress report (My battery is at 76%...I'm going to wait until it gets fully
    charged).

Edit: Successfully downgraded to 1.5...so now I'm going to upgrade to 3.02oe-b. Wish me luck!

And you did that because TA-082 MOBO's can't run the 1.50 update right?

I am under the impression that you can't use recovery mode to revert back to 1.50. Is this correct?

For any who hasn't done this, it is CONFIRMED as working. I did it on my brother's PSP and it worked great, then I upgraded him to OE-B. Works great.

    HOLY FUÇK!

    I just saw this today!

Dark AleX (and crew) are gods, no question about it!

My sister got a PSP, brand new for Christmas with 2.71 firmware that has "IC003" in it's UMD drive. I might try to downgrade it, but I am wondering if it is a TA-86. How can you tell if it is a TA-86 motheboard?

I downgraded yesterday, but this is sweet. I now have a TA-82 3.02 OE-B that is fully functional. Thanks a lot Dark Alex.
