My guess why your screen is malfunctioning is because your firmware is damaged. It could well be that.
Something wierd is up
lemme run thru what ive done...
first this is a new psp so no hend etc. i had to get themfrom the normal places... then:
Ran HEND; got a green screen
Ran idstoragechange; did its thing
Ran the generic downgrader, got stuck extracting pxr's
rebooted
recopied everything into the memory stick
Ran HEND; blue screen -> XMB mode did this twice
ran idstoragechange; did its thing again
ran generic downgrader; did its thing; pressed x
rebooted
got the screen telling me to press circle i did so then....
i got a black screen. at first i thought i had bricked it. but after rebooting i can hear the GUI sounds the clicking as i move the option, i put a umd in and i can hear the splash intro sounds and stuff. also if i leave the psp there and it screen turns on but when i move it, it goes back off.
what i think is going on.... the psp has its lcd on/ lcd off (due to inactivity) mixed up! what can i do?

i could always try upgrading this baby in the dark lol!
.... not that i want to really
If you did, you'd just throw away the great chance of now to run all the great homebrew out there. I'd would have to be insane to upgrade.
idk.. everything went fine wen i downgraded.. either a bug or screen is running backwards. thats all i can say now. did u press the screen brightness button? or turn psp off and bak on?
ive turned it off and on like 10 times now.
