Must be only for debugging, no drivers exists for the psp screen to work so he has to output them through the psp' serial port.

I don't think i'd go through all those processes just to get linux to work on my PSP it seems to complicated

No. I think that bit of hardware is just used to understand exactly what is happening during boot up. Different codes are displayed depending upon whats happening with the hardware. Also certain errors might display their own codes. This is just for debugging I gather.

Well, the news of a PSP's linux are going around since forever, but I'd love to have it on my jewel

I'm am not going through that just to get that working but I think that's for knowing the cpu speed or something while that's running so maybe they can increase the speed of the linux to make it run at a suitable speed

Thats a silly little x86 emulator. You cannot compare it to a port of linux created specifically for the PSP's hardware. This should be several times faster and much more responsive.
