Rev Wii and GC Zelda Fuel Huge Holiday Sales For Nintendo

    news via portable planet

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has been selling like the proverbial hotcakes on both Nintendo Wii, and surprisingly, on GameCube. In fact, according to the latest NPD chart, the Wii Zelda: TP sold 519,200 in December. But GameCube’s same title sold slightly more at 532,900. Who knew that the Cube sales would still be so high?

All in all, it was a million unit December for Zelda. Some stats from the Big N:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was purchased by an extraordinary 86 percent of Wii buyers, or more than 900,000 games for that system alone. Coupled with the companion version released in December for Nintendo GameCube, the two versions of the newest title totalled approximately 1.5 million unit sales in less than seven weeks, which would represent one of the five best-selling games for the entire year.

I thought it was a good game.. not a great game. I would still recommend it to any zelda fan still.. but i too was just a touch disappointed by both its ease and its length. Is it just me or was OoT a hell of alot longer and more challenging?
