So if this is legit then would you need the Japanese firmware updates to go to 3.10 OE? Or could you use the North American updates instead?

You would be correct Buddy4point0, I took a look both updates and they seem identical.

I would like to add also that the psp seems to be legit. I bought the Silver psp and it arrived today.

I don't see any visible damage to the unit, it appears new. Opening up the umd door it has IC1003 printed on the board. I went ahead and successfully updated it to 3.10 OE A using the N.A. updates, with no trouble.

Is this an error with SuccessHK or what? These cannot be official 1.5 firmwares. There is no way in hell. 2.80 at LEAST.

they were probably flashed as its easy to do and 1.5 psp are easier to sell then 2.81

and for all those n00bs who are about to ask what flashing is it just means downgrade but is the proper termanology for it

this would be probable, now... but this thread was started before there was any downgrader for 2.81. Pink PSP were only released as 2.81 so it was very strange.

Not worth it. Some psp hackers found a loophole in all psp firmwares which allow them to be flashed to emulate version 1.50. Thats what im doing; im running 3.03 OE with a GAME150 folder to emu 1.50. I don't remember exactly what site it was, but its user friendly,
