Is there anywhere to get 2.80 or lower (don't want to bother looking for gta) firmware psp for less than $221 now that the newest firmware ones are cheaper?

my local target has them at 2.80 so i would check there, pretty much every game store has them at 3.03 also so if u have gta it should be no porblem. if your target doesnt have them at 2.8, check online

I suggest buying a used PSP. It's cheaper and you can be 100% certain it will have the firmware you desire. If you do want a new one though, look for the guide that allows you to check what FM it is by the side of the box without opening it.

agree. they have been clearing the backstock of P!NK (music artist) PSPs. In my local Argos (central London) I got one for my wife for £99.97!!!!!! and it came with:
carry case, headphones, 32MB card, P!NK LE UMD, and some other stuff too.
it was 2.81. I upgraded to 3.03, down to 1.5, up to 3.40 OEM.

my wife is loving the recent dearth of puzzle games 7 wonders, Capcom Puzzle, PuzzleQuest etc.

for that price you would be crazy not to buy if you want a pink colour (which she did) as you get to walk out of shop with it and within 90mins you are running whatever FW you want. :P

Can somebody please make games that run off the memory stick of all firmwares as I have 3.5, damn, if demo's can run, surely theres a way to make games think they are demo's... and run? Somebody really *kin ! clever could do this I reckon.
