    Default Is there a way?

Just bought a second, spare PSP off ebay. It's on 1,5 firmware.

I'm wondering if there's a way to see what MB it has in. I want to go up to OE-B with this one but read if the PSP has a ta-082 it won't work.

Would it brick it attempting the upgrade?

    All went well

Still don't know about the MB. Had a good look inside the umd drive but didn't really want to take it to pieces

on the top right corner, there is little text in gold, it says IC1003. if you see that, then it is a TA-082 MB
if there is no text, then it is not a 082
