    what firmware do you have?
You MUST have custom firmware (3.02+) by dark alex and make sure you run in under 3.03 kernel

Also is there a way to remove some of the Zoom levels (to shrink the file size down) The "last two" Zooms aren't needed, all I need is zoomed up to the street name level. Is it possible?

There seem to be problems with geolookup function, probably because of some memory problems...
If you use the program w/o the receiver- use non-psp290 version - it's somewhat more stable.

You could "unpack" you map with gmdl tool and remove some of the folder inside 1x,2x.. directories...
The cleaner way would be to select the zoom range for you map during map generation (click on "advanced" button)

Dump encrypted ones with C+D psar dumper tool and 3.03 FW ugrade psar

But in general, the only advantage of 3.00+ gps modules is that they would "remember" your latest location and use it for faster startup the next time.
I doubt that they could improve the sensitivity of the unit...
thanks for the great help i really enjoy the app and what you are doing for the psp community once again thanks!

    Default still no ideas..

Pardon me for repeating my question again but I have looked all previous posts and am very desperate to get this to work.

I tried using decrypted usbgps.prx from 3.03FW with usbacc.prx from 2.71FW. It works well in psp290test, getting up to 9 sat-in-view with fixes within 5minutes.

It doesn't, however, work the same way in MapViewer. Can someone help? :-(

    Thanks.

Do you see time running in the satellite look up window inside mapthis?
Do you see any satellites in view in the same window? Also check the gps device status - is it ON or OFF?

In mapthis, the time is running but it is not the right time, i.e. 04/16/2006. GPS state is ON. SAT-IN-VIEW could get to 2 if lucky(with usbgps.prx in campprx) but that's it.

Thanks for replying deniska, appreciate it.

Well, look like it's just a reception issue with your receiver..
Keep trying.. perhaps find a better/clearer location to get the inital fix...
Try tilting the anntenna see what works best for ya..
Also try changing INITLOCATION value in system/config.txt file

For Map This! the PRX must be inside the mapviewer folder in PSP/GAME303.

hi, yeah, the prx is inside the mapviewer folder. strange thing is, with the same setup at the same location, psp290test can get a fix on up to 6 satellites while mapthis shows nothing at all..

    thx.

Sorry I'm having trouble with my connection (TAIWAN Earthquake Dec. 27 destroyed optical fibres form Philippines to Taiwan). I just hope I can help. BYE FOR NOW.
