Really you where able to do a lookup ... man that is odd. As for the "missing" tiles ... that's mostlikely due to the fact when I created the map I was given the chance to remove areas of the grid that weren't needed ... the ocean and unpopulated mountain regions and such.

As I stated in a prior post ... I was able to do a look up on with the map that you included with the app but it didn't work for mine ... It's odd you get it to work NP ... hmmmm ???

IS there a tutorial for the 7ane geodat tool?

Nicinico, Thanks for the help with my screen timing out. I actually feel quite embarrassed since its such an easy thing to do. lol Guess thats why we're all here. To help each other out. Thanks again.

Well off I go to search for an entire map of California. I seem to be having difficulties with Google maps.

I don't know if it's the weather or the recent changes but I was able to get a fix on 8 satellites farelly quickly. (it was an open place)

The overall perhormance was comparable to Maplus...
Please test and let me know what you get with a newer version...

1)Use the [start] button in map mode, then GPS info
2)check your config.txt file - you speed is probably set in miles per hour, not in KM

Hmmm, tried the new eboot, it's faster in detecting a sat. now but it still isn't performing as well as the psp290test. Anyone facing the same issues or is it just me?

I think Sony is clearly crippling this device.
Despite the fact that it has the SirfStarIII chip, it seems there is a problem with trickle power. There does not appear to be an internal battery.

Question: Is the Unit offered for sale in Japan guaranteed to be the same unit offered in the USA?

It is possible that Sony is holding back some functionality to give an 'edge' to software that it will be able to collect license fees from.

If they allow full functionality of the GPS reciever, it could encroach on the stand-alone GPS units that fetch much higher prices, especially if voice navigation were to be eventually incorporated into HOMEBREW.

    May be of use:

i tryed to download your new eboot. But it seems that the file is corrupted (that's what winrar told me...)
Is it possible to have a new link, please ?

Any way, thanks a lot for all this marvelous work !

    Default Does work!!

After some testing, the new eboot does give the reception a big boost. Not better than the psp290Test but definitely can give me a good signal between 5-10mins.

Much thanks, deniska!! You're the best!!
