Same issue here. Its still beta so things like this can be expected.

Im sure a new build of either OE or Mapthis will come out to solve this. In the meantime don't upgrade your OE firmware past 3.03 untill there is more info.

Edit: The crash on the map load isnt consistent. Maps do load sometimes, but as said below can crash when zooming.

I am going to talk my mate into upgrading his PSP to 3.10oe later today.

I did try usbgps and usbucc from fw 3.10 when i was trying mapthis the first time.

Mapthis loaded the first usbucc.prx but the second usbgps.prx did not load.

I don't know if this has something to do with the files which are in fw 3.03 not being the same(usbgps.prx is bigger in fw 3.10)

I agree. It loads just fine, but when I try zooming out then it just locks up. Very possible that some of the graphic API changed in 3.10 which is causing it to lock up.

NOTE: I just did another test and turned off all of my plugins to make sure there wasnt' a conflict and this seems to have fixed it. I would recommend doing the same.

Hey, I recieved my PSP-290 not too long ago and my experience has been pretty good I live in Washington and the only inconvienence I have had is the unit not "fixing" on the satellites. After a little while i get somewhere in the range of 8-10 sat. but it will not get fixed on them. Is there something I have to do? The only way to fix this right now is I have to let the psp sit outside the car before I go and get it fixed on the satellites before I leave. After it gets fixed it works great 3-4 bars inside the car with about 10 satellites in view. I have only got the gps to get fixed on satellites once while I was inside driving the car. Other than that it has been great. One other thing was that if I go outside my map range with a good signal and then come back inside the map range it shuts off the psp.

For anyone interested. Finally fixed my problem, I feel so silly with all the nub q's. I believe I had a corrupt file which was overwritten when I copied everything from the package onto the memstick. Went back to 3.03OEC in the process to. Works perfectly, an incredible piece of software!

    Default 3.10oe-a

I have just updated to 3.10OE-A. With a clean formatted memstick and MapThis! with 3.10 PRX files, MapThis! crashes loading 1024x1024 maps that used to load on 3.03OE-A with 3.03 PRX files.

I have also tried 3.10OE-A with 3.03 PRX files but it still crashes when loading the map.

Bring on the next MapThis! ver or Patch

I have already tested the new usbacc.prx & usbgps.prx that extracted from FW3.10 running under 3.10OE-A. They are working properly. Remember to press circle to dump encrypted prxs without sigcheck using the latest PSAR Dumper V2B.

Also found the best method to get PSP-290 locked to satellites in the possible shortest time. Go to "select action" dialog box and select "GPS INFO". Once we have at least 3 to 4 satellites states go to 1, then activates "select" button to go back to default map screen. Using this method, I could get mapthis autotracking in less than a minutes. If I am going to let it track in the default map screen, it took donkey year to get the satellites locked (3~10 minutes), sometimes it never locks at all. Not sure is there any bug in the program where the program somehow finds it difficult to get the satellites locked.

Hope this information is useful to those that have problem of getting PSP-290 to work.

Pls take note, it only works with eboot.pbp from 0.461s beta.

Hey Xmant, where do you see "GPS INFO" on "select action??" I'm also running 0.461s beta and all I get is "ADD POI, POI LOOKUP, ADDRESS GEOLOOKUP and REVERSE GEOLOOKUP." No GPS INFO.

Also, can anyone tell me where you can view how many satellities you're locked into? WHere can I view that information?

    Thanks

I confirm these findings. Ie MapThis! 0.461s Beta, NOT 0.461s_1 Beta, works under 3.10OE-A with 3.10 PRX files.

    Thank you Xmant.

    Update:
I musta fluked something this morn. After loading maps 2 or 3 times to test the above... I have not been able to load a map again.

Keep on pressing down in the select action window and you shall see more options.
