Okay, then I tried both from 2.71 and worked. The question is: When I run GPS Info in the menu I got 7 satellites found... why my signal bar is allways red?

    Thank you!

Go back to page 12, you can find 3.03 prx there for "FREE"

RE: Red Bar, Please make sure you get a fix not just found, get at least 3 satellite fixes (I Think) in order for the bar to be green.

Will the next version include trace route function? (for example: you can choose with arrows strart and end points ant it will calculate the shortest way..or you can manually set points and it will know whole trace, if next line between 2 points has negative angle - it says "turn to left") Or it is hard to make? With big arrows (like other GPS navigators) "turn to right.. at next cross turn to left". Voice may be easisy written to wav files

Deniska, after playing with it quite a bit, there is definitely a difference in performance between the two. For instance, the green proggie gets a fix on 5 satellites at within startup of 1 minute while MapThis sees two satellites but cannot get a fix.
Any ideas why this has happened? I have tried toggling the CPU speed and formatting the memory stick.

Has anyone else experienced the same?

Try to change INITLOCATION variable in the system.conf and see if you get better results..

This is not really a route feature yet, but rather just path distance calculator.
I'll try to work on this in the next release, when I have time..

    Hi, deniska

I love your program especially when I made a map for use. but the problem is, I can't seem to get a fix on my position on MapThis! and I had totally no reception at all.

For you information, I'm from Singapore. I tried using the PSP290-TEST to find out if I can get anything, I notice that I can view quite a number of satelites, but couldn't get a fix at all.

The GPS State is at 3 when activated. But the loading and starting of USB and GPS drivers are al grey out.

Sorry but mind me asking like all others who are experiencing the same problem as me.

I've juz downloaded the update eboot for MapThis! and hope it works. keeping my fingers crossed though~

To my best knowlege there is no reliable free data nor open source implementation of route calculation feature.
Of course this question was answered a number of times already which leads me to a following request:

I need someone, who wants to contribute to this project to browse the forums and compile a list of FAQ with the answers...

Thank you for your help. Well, I got 7 satellites on the menu option "GPS Info". I´ll try these prx and see what happens.

I'm running MapThis! with 2.71 prx files, all other combinations failed. I don't have the GPS module yet though. Could that be why they failed? I've read that some people are using 3.00+ usbgps.prx's and would like to know why some people are having success with other combinations of prx. I got my prx files via PSAR Dump + Devhook Flash Install, 2.71,3.00,3.01,3.03. I have not tried 3.02 yet though.

Thanks Deniska for your hard work.

Edit: P.S. The update "_1" you posted is corrupted. Is there any chance you could post it up again?

Well, With a bit of help, i got everything done on the list, got the prx files from 2.71, downloaded the maps from google download, put it in all the right folders......

but how do I run it on the PSP?

    4) Attach the usb gps-290 accessory and you should be good to go...

    But how do I 'go'?
I have been telling the PSP to 'go' all morning, and it just sits there on the table, and does nothing! lol!

what do I type in on the web browser screen to run the program, I have tried different things:
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/maps
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/maps/gpsfs
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/maps/coords
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/usbgps
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/usbgps.prx
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/usbgps.prx
    file:/psp/game303/mapviewer/usbgps

I have read, and re read every post on this forum related to this, and I have read the WIKI Books document. am I just too new to this, should I be reading the older posts?
I just dont see it, anywhere?

Should I give up and eBay the PSP-290?
