i'm assuming you did try the working tester program prx files in the map this prog..?

cuz that happened to me, so I just copied the tester prx files over to the map this directory and it worked.

All, FW 3.10 got decrypted, I wonder what changes they made to the GPS drivers, they probably enhanced the support for the 290. As I don't have mine in yet I can't test but it might be worth someone else to look at.

yeah, the ones from the test package were the ones I tried first of all. It also shows one of the co-ords in a negative value.

Thanks but im having the problem with prx's all the way upto the 3.03 ones. My position is not in any negative values either, thats why im a little confused about this problem.

Tried 2.80 prxs, it no longer shows any negative values, but the LAT is shown as 394.*** instead of 35.***...
3.03 prxs again show the LAT as a negative.

Tried and tested.
In my case, I Found out that 3.10 prx has a version check before executing.
Using a hex editor, I did change the version of 3.10 to 3.03 in order for it to execute on 3.03 OE-C.
Comparing PRX's (usbgps and usbacc) from this two FW's (3.03 and 3.10) only the version has been change.

Well, maybe you can try it without hex editing and see if the green proggie (I always test with this prog.) executes without errors.

You are right, seems like $ony has patched their prxs and now usbacc.prx and usbgps.prx from fw 3.10 can't be used with mapthis and the green proggie...

ok, here's something to share...it worked here in singapore too...with 2.71 usbacc.prx and 3.03 usbgps.prx, plus intial location set to 9 or 10...

results i got was hdop = 1.0 to 1.4
about 10 satelites received and at least 4 fixes...
map was accurate also...

hopes my testimony clears some doubt in setting the receiver and mapthis in some areas like mine to work...

tested in a car in the morning, to my disappointment, the car indeed is the culprit of bad receptivity...but as i had placed it further out on the dashboard, reception and fixing of the position was getting steady...

like wat had been said earlier in other's posts, spent some money on a good receiver than relying on the PSP-290...

I imagine once DAX comes out with 3.10OE it will be usable again. I was just wondering if they made any improvments over the existing 3.03 drivers.

Hi, I think the experience is different for all of us, really. Some of us do get better connectivity than others. Also, I feel that the connectivity of the psp-290 in mapthis hasn't been fully optimised. The test program for me could get a fix for 4 satellites indoor in less than 2 minutes, and connectivity maintained, while it will take 5-10minutes outdoors to get connectivity in mapthis with frequent dropoffs.

We can also account for the possibility of improved drivers in future firmwares.

Also, the attachment is more portable, drawing power directly from the psp whilst having support for future psp games. ^_^
